One of Only Three International Schools in Cambodia Accredited by Both CIS & WASC

Westview Cambodian International School is one of only three international schools in Cambodia to hold dual accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC).

In a market where many schools describe themselves as “international,” dual accreditation provides objective proof.

CIS and WASC are globally respected accrediting bodies that evaluate schools against demanding international benchmarks. Their reviews examine curriculum alignment, instructional quality, safeguarding, governance, financial sustainability, and strategic leadership. Schools must demonstrate measurable outcomes, institutional coherence, and a clear commitment to continuous improvement.

This distinction places Westview in a rare category: independently validated against both European and U.S. accreditation frameworks.

For students, this strengthens the credibility of the Westview diploma and academic record. Universities worldwide recognize CIS and WASC accreditation as assurance that coursework meets international standards of rigor and accountability.

For families, it provides clarity in a crowded educational landscape. Accreditation is not marketing language—it is a formal, recurring evaluation process that requires transparency, data, and sustained performance.

Westview’s blended curriculum—integrating American Common Core Standards with the Khmer national program—operates within this externally reviewed framework. The result is an education that is globally benchmarked, locally grounded, and strategically positioned for university pathways worldwide.

Dual accreditation is not a permanent badge. Both CIS and WASC require ongoing reporting, evaluation cycles, and demonstrated progress. This ensures that Westview continues to evolve, strengthen, and raise standards over time.

In short: Westview does not simply offer an international program. It operates at an internationally accredited level of accountability and performance.

National Diploma Equivalency

The High School Diploma of Westview Cambodian International School is recognised by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport as equivalent to the National High School Diploma. This means that students of Westview Cambodian International School are not required to sit for the Grade 12 national examinations.

Upon graduating from Westview, students can use this diploma to apply for national and international universities or apply for jobs in the public and private sectors in Cambodia.

NWEA map

NWEA is a research-based, not-for-profit organization that supports students and educators worldwide by creating assessment solutions that precisely measure growth and proficiency, and provide insights to help tailor instruction. Administering MAP Growth tests at least twice a year provides an additional data point for each student, resulting in a more complete and stable picture of student performance. Student scores are placed in a percentile range against US schools as a means of comparison; and our teachers and administrators at Westview use MAP data to identify student academic growth needs and projected targets. Finally, we also use MAP results as a means of special recognition for students who perform well over the year in our three dedicated testing sessions.

IELTS

IELTS is an English language test for study, migration or work. Over three million people take IELTS tests every year. IELTS is accepted by more than 11,000 employers, universities, schools and immigration bodies around the world. An authentic IELTS score is generally one of the necessary conditions for students who seek to study abroad, particularly in Ireland, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Singapore, and New Zealand. It demonstrates a person’s language abilities to acquire a visa to work in another country.

TEDx

TEDx Westview is a community-driven stage for “ideas worth spreading.” Independently organized yet inspired by the spirit of TED, we bring together diverse voices from across disciplines to share fresh perspectives, spark meaningful conversation, and connect people who care about the future. At TEDx Westview, live speakers and TED Talks videos combine to fuel curiosity, challenge assumptions, and foster community — all in one room. Model United Nations (MUN)

Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. Students can attend Model United Nations conferences around the world and from the comfort of their own homes with online conferences. Through MUN, students will gain a better understanding of the inner workings of the United Nations and build skills in diplomacy, compromise and decision making, so they will have the opportunity to make changes and solve problems. Embedding language skills within an MUN framework as we do at Westview, is an effective way of learning to use English in a real-life setting. In addition, Westview has maintained partnership with a top international school in Singapore, called Overseas Family School (OFS) to provide opportunities for our students to join international conference every year with other students from different countries around the world.
