GOOD CHILD
We are committed to nurturing devoted and grateful children. Good children listen, help, and respect their parents, grandparents and elders by treating them with love, affection, kindness and consideration and by expressing thanks, asking for guidance, and being thankful, honest and obedient. Our teachers reinforce the importance of being a good child by giving their students opportunities to express their devotion to family through sharing, journaling, technology, and the arts. And, they help their students to: i) recognize all of the things they can be grateful for; ii) reflect on why they’ve been given these things; iii) think about how these things make them feel; and iv) show appreciation by being kind to their families in return.
GOOD STUDENT
We strive to develop enthusiastic and conscientious students who are highly motivated to learn. Enthusiastic students have curiosity, a love for learning, passion for knowledge, and a strong desire to be uplifting and contribute to a positive school environment. Conscientious students respect their teachers by being accountable, punctual, participative, hard working, and submitting their work on time. They set challenging goals, seek feedback, and act on the advice they are given. Our teachers spark enthusiasm by being friendly, mobile, encouraging, energetic, and passionate for the subjects they teach. And, they cultivate conscientiousness by mentoring students to be reliable, careful, comprehensive, organized, accurate, and detailed without becoming overly compulsive.
GOOD FRIEND
We work to develop respectful and dependable friends who enjoy being with each other. A respectful friend will bring out the best in you because they want what’s best for you. They may challenge you to be a better version of yourself but will always respect your individuality and boundaries. Above all, they will be caring: helping you to feel valued, appreciated, listened to, and cared about. Dependable friends maintain positive behavior and resolve disagreements constructively and amicably. They can always be counted on to listen, laugh, encourage, and support each other. Our teachers understand the importance of friendship for the health and happiness of every child and are therefore quick to act when a child appears sad or lonely – talking with them in a caring way and ensuring plenty of social interaction with classmates. Our teachers nurture dependability by teaching specific interpersonal skills for developing positive relationships that are built on trust, loyalty, respect, and reciprocity.
GOOD CITIZEN
We are committed to moulding engaged digital citizens. Engaged citizens take action to create a better society for all. They uphold the values of justice and dignity in pursuit of a more inclusive, peaceful, and sustainable world. At school, they respect rules and uphold the rights, beliefs and cultural practices of others. They dress, speak, and act acceptably to respect local culture. And, they have a sense of duty to advocate for what is right. Digital citizens use technology safely, responsibly, and respectfully to increase their positive influence in the world. They research and support local causes, advocate for sustainable development goals, and contribute positively and safely to online discussions. Our teachers help students to become engaged citizens by empowering them to take positive action at school and/or in the public sphere by contributing to environmental causes and/or advocating for overlooked groups including children, minorities, and low income communities. We develop digital citizens by: i) exposing students to a broad range of digital tools and resources; ii) helping them to understand the capacity they have to make the world a better place; and iii) inspiring them to apply their IT skills productively and for the greater good.
